OLC Gala concert reviews

Spring Gala – a hint of things to come

Written by Renée Silberman

…From the buoyant presence and the deep musical intelligence of conductor Alain Trudel, whose arrival in London will immediately inject fizz and passion into the local arts scene.

…The orchestra’s playing was clean, spare, and together, right from the start. The litheness of the string section was a pleasure to hear, and it gave more than a suggestion of the rapport between the musicians and the conductor….

…London can look forward to much great music making in seasons on the horizon. May the public enjoy the bounty!

Orchestra London: Spring Gala 2011; Introducing Alain Trudel

by Brian Hay Read

…Alain Trudel showed a lot of things at this show. He had the sound of the orchestra configured perfectly for the program…

…With this orchestra he has a good fit. His desire to present wide range of musical genre and styles compliments their ability to adapt to them beautifully. His re-pore with them is one of quiet ease rooted in confidence in his colleagues’ ability to do their jobs…

…This is looking really good.
